As we await all the votes to be cast and counted, we are proud to see that marginalized people all throughout the country are mobilized in an effort to redirect the course of this nation’s future.

One hundred years after the ratification of the 19th Amendment, women of color are marching to the polls and asserting themselves as political candidates in significant numbers. And, in an era when voting rights are under assault, we see throngs of minority citizens assembling to reclaim the franchise.

No matter the outcome of this election, this is a historic day to have America vote for its first Black woman as VP.

Thank you to all of the activists, organizers and volunteers who have worked tirelessly to ensure that the people’s voices are heard.
