CUNY TV To Broadcast Our Conversation With Sonia Sanchez on Chisholm’s Legacy

On Martin Luther King Day, CUNY TV will broadcast the dialogue between Dr. Sonia Sanchez and Dr. Zinga Fraser on Shirley Chisholm’s legacy.

The talk was originally held on November 27th 2018 as the keynote event of our Chisholm Day 2018 celebration. That day, Dr. Sanchez reflected on the significance of Shirley Chisholm’s life and career against the backdrop of the Black Freedom Movement and in light of the historic midterm elections of 2018. November 2018 also marked the 50-year anniversary of Chisholm’s achievement as the first Black woman elected to Congress.

Other guests, including CUNY Trustee and public servant Dr. Una S.T. Clarke and Delta Foundation director Deborah Peaks Coleman also spoke during the event.

The broadcast will premier 8PM on Martin Luther King Day with subsequent airings scheduled throughout the week. Please tune in to the CUNY TV broadcast HERE on the following dates and times:
