On Monday, December 7th, the we will be continuing our Chisholm Day tradition with a virtual celebration. It will take place from 5:15 to 6:45 pm via Zoom. You can now register to attend the webinar following this link: https://tinyurl.com/ShirleyChisholmDay2020
The keynote event Chisholm Day this year will be a dialogue between Professor Maya Wiley and our Director, Professor Zinga A. Fraser. That dialogue will be entitled The Future of Black Women’s Political Leadership.
Among her long list of accomplishments, Prof. Maya Wiley is a civil rights attorney, founder of the Center for Social Inclusion, former mayor’s counsel in New York City Hall and candidate to become mayor of New York City.
Dr. Zinga Fraser is a former Congressional aide, an expert on Shirley Chisholm and on Black Women in Congress. She is the Director of the Shirley Chisholm Project and a professor of Africana Studies and Women’s and Gender Studies at Chisholm’s alma mater, Brooklyn College. Given the historic strides women of color in politics have made in recent years, you won’t want to miss this timely conversation!
Since Chisholm Day is less than a week away, we urge you to register as soon as possible. We anticipate that spaces for the webinar will be filled quickly! So please register for the webinar today.
