Former Congresswoman Patricia Schroeder represented the Colorado’s 1st district from 1973-1997. While in Congress she became the first woman to serve on the House Armed Services Committee. In 1988 she ran for President on the Democratic ticket and was a Congressional colleague and supporter of Shirley Chisholm.
